    Event Details – 【mt project at Sumoto】

    Installation Shop @ Yorimachi-so

At the mt project at Sumoto, in addition to installations and exhibitions in the storehouse at Yorimachi-so and sales of masking tape, interior decoration of the main house will begin in early October. Taking advantage of the properties of masking tape, there are plans to demonstrate painting techniques that allow for repeated renovations and decorate the space to create a comfortable living environment.

Yorimachi-so is a former private house in Sumoto City that serves as a base for activities and a place to support island residents, students, and people from outside the island who have ideas for things they'd like to do on Awaji Island. Since May 2023, Yuka Mori, a member of the Sumoto City Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team, has been managing the place, renovating it and using it as a place for interaction between people from within and outside the community through events.

    Masking art

This project involves colorfully remaking beloved local shopping streets and temples using masking tape.

We use a construction method where masking tape is applied as a base layer to the wall, and then painted and decorated with masking tape. You can see how applying masking tape as a base layer makes it easy to redecorate. Fstudio is an office, so it is only open for viewing on business days. Also, if you are coming to Henjoin Temple or Fstudio by car, we recommend parking in a nearby paid parking lot. You can tour the area as a walking tour starting from S BRICK.Walking Map (Google Maps)Please make use of it.

    • Henjoin Temple exterior wall (Sumotoji-machi)
    • Inside the Fstudio office (located within the Comodo 56 shopping arcade)
*Completed photo of Henjoin Temple (Sumotoji-cho). More decorations are planned to be added in the future.
